Humblot and Simon and A Humblot, Nancy

Around 1900, Nancy was a hotbed of popular postcard production in France. Major firms included Albert Bergeret, Jules Royer and Humblot and Simon.

The first card is an example for Humblot and Simon. In 1904 this firm had 37 presses on the go.

In 1905 the merger of Bergeret, Humblot and Helmlinger into Imprimeries RĂ©unies de Nancy (qv) occurred. The second card dates from about this time, the logo is A Humblot but the card also bears Bergerat's name so maybe it was after the merger.

A Humblot continued producing photographic views of Nancy, though marked with the firm's name rather than with this logo.
